The T-Shirt Illustration Process

Our illustration process starts with understanding the client’s needs and evaluating the goals. Once we have a strong understanding of the project priorities, we can define the project, research the subject and formulate a plan. A great illustration is much more effective with a great idea behind it. Therefore, the conceptualization process includes sketches, research and figuring out the details of the project.

We share our sketches with our clients and get their approval before we move forward with the final illustration. We finalize the visual style and details so we can create a brilliant illustration. The final illustration may be done with a combination of ink pen scanned to a computer and cleaned up, or it may take the form of a fully digital illustration, drawn by tablet within Illustrator or Photoshop. The details are dissected with the right line work, print details and coloring to bring the original idea to life.
